It's one of the most popular 'DONBURI(rice bowl)' in Japan. There are pork cutlets and onions and eggs on the rice. 'KATSU(cutlet)' has several meanings in Japanese. As a verb, 'KATSU' means 'to win, overcome, gain a victory'. People eat 'KATSUDON' before an important event for good luck. Especially, students who are preparing for or taking entrance exams to high school or college usually eat it before the exam.

So, go for it, 'KATSUDON' makes us energetic.
