It literally means 'Turkish Rice'. Originally it's pork cutlets, spaghetti, fried rice with curry flavor on a plate. Nowadays, people can put anything on a plate, such as sunny-side up, salad, hamburg, croquettes, and creamy gratin. Why does it called 'Turkish Rice'? I've heard one of the reason is people thought this meal is western food and eastern food mixing together on one plate. Turkey is located between east and west, so people named it 'Turkish Rice'. But actually we are not sure why it's called that. Anyway, it's nothing related to Turkey(country and Thanks Giving).
You can eat it only in Nagasaki prefecture and few more prefectures. Find your favorite plate!
