March 3 is the 'GIRL's DAY' in Japan. It's called 'HINA-MATSURI'.
'HINA-MATSURI' is a festival, which is said to give happiness and fortune in girl's future. Families with young girls decorate their house with dolls dressed up in traditional royal clothes of the Heian era(794-1185), together with flower from a peach tree. This day is also called 'Peach Festival' because this time is the season for peach blossom. We put these dolls away as soon as possible after this day. It is believed that if we didn't do it, the girl's marriage would be delayed... Happy Girl's Day!
