'KARAOKE' is originally Japanese word. Now, there are many karaoke place in the world, but people never pronounce it correctly. That sounds like 'carry-oh-key' for me. First time I heard it, I was confused what it was. We, Japanese people, pronounce it 'Kah-rah-oh-keh'. Karaoke is one of the most important culture for Japanese people. We generally go to karaoke after got drunk as a second bar. Teenagers go there after school with their friends. Only 30 min is fine, but me and my friend have been there for 8 hours. Now, there are many karaoke places for one person, so you can practice to sing songs without other people, or it could be good for reducing stress.
