[KON-NICHI-WA]

It means 'HELLO' in Japanese. This could be formal, so you can say to people who you should show your polite attitude such as your boss, teacher, or stranger. It's often used when people visit someone's house or on the phone. We don't often use this greeting to close friends. To your friends, just say 'Ohhh!' or 'Yayyy!' which mean 'Hi!'.
