It means 'Viewing of Cherry Blossom'. It's Japanese traditional custom of welcoming spring, also as known as the 'Cherry Blossom Festival'. 'HANA (Flower)' and 'MI (Viewing)'. 'O' is an honorific prefix. Usually 'O' is used to show respect or politeness to other people. We go to a park to 'O-HANAMI' with family, friends, or co-workers. Most of people enjoy drinking, eating, or singing, not viewing cherry blossom. But if there is no cherry blossom, we would not gather in the park. 'SAKURA (cherry blossom)' is important for Japanese people to connect with each other. 'O-HANAMI' at night is also amazing.
